Position Summary:
The Director of Learning and Leadership Development (LLD) is responsible for development and oversight of the strategy, operations and evaluation of NYU Langone Health System s learning and leadership development portfolios. The position will direct the Langone Academy at NYU Langone Health, a new enterprise-wide initiative that encompasses onboarding, professional development, mentoring, and leadership development at all levels. The Director reports to the vice president of Organization Development and Learning, and manages a team of ~10 FTEs and numerous vendor relationships.
Job Responsibilities:
* Design, operationalize, sustain, maintain and evaluate overall learning and leadership development strategy/framework/programs that demonstrate appropriate resource investment while enhancing development opportunities for all employees.
* Perform periodic needs assessments and benchmarking to ensure LLD programs and services reflect evidence-based and cutting-edge best practice
* Work with the vice deans and other key stakeholders to understand needs, establish curricula, develop and facilitate leader-led instructional programs, leadership support services, and measure outcomes 
* Oversight of a portfolio of assessment instruments including multi-rater/360, personality, behavior style, conflict style, emotional intelligence, etc.
* Identification and implementation of most appropriate assessment instrument(s) for leadership development programs.
* Responsible for maintenance and growth of internal leadership coaching capacity, and assignment of coaches {internal and external) 
* Consult with local leaders to create viable on-the-job stretch assignments
* Establish strategic partnerships with external and internal sources and vendors
* Serve as a core instructor, coach, and mentor as needed 
* Establish and manage relationships with LMS & e-learning software vendors and a variety of learning and leadership development consultants
* Partner with systems administrator to ensure the LMS is running smoothly
* Upgrade organization's training community of practice, e-learning policies and procedures, as well as guidelines and standards for online course development, and instructional design
* Research and implement innovative methods and learning approaches, such as mobile learning, micro-learning, simulations, web-based discussion forums, social media, sharing of best practices, blogs, etc.
* Partner with learning and development specialists to continually evaluate, improve and enhance ODL's training and education programs
* Oversee the development and implementation of customized training and education programs for various client groups throughout the health system
Minimum Qualifications: 
* At least ten years experience in the field, with at least five of these leading a team of experienced learning and development professionals in a complex organization.
* Successful track record designing and implementing evidence-based experiential learning and leadership development programs
* Master's degree required in Leadership, Adult Development, Adult Learning, Organization Development, Organization Behavior/Psychology or related field. Doctorate strongly preferred.
* Graduate of a robust professional coach certification program. International Coach Federation (ICF) credential strongly preferred.
* Experience implementing and operationalizing evidence-based learning and leadership development models and frameworks.
* Strong ability to understand research and integrate into practice.
* Skilled at analyzing data to ma e strategic decisions, and to determine outcomes of programs, including ROI.
* Experience and interest in contributing to the research base, publications, presentations and participation in professional organizations.
* Demonstrated ability to teach, coach and mentor all levels of employees including senior leaders.
* Excellent facilitation, consulting and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in managing and successfully developing a team of functional experts.
* Experience with learning management systems.
* Demonstrated ability to create internal partnerships with others in formal/informal educational roles across a complex organizational system.
* Prior experience working in the healthcare industry, particularly academic medicine, preferred.
